2009 - 2010 Meeting
Comments from the
Meeting with proposed replies
Conduct of Meeting:
-- Minimize hall meetings-- too much noise coming into the breakout
Reply: State Officers Concur
-- Staff, Officers, DDs, should attend breakouts to show support of new GKs and presenters.
Reply: DDs and state staff were in attendance
during many of the breakouts. State officers attend as time and other duties of
conducting the weekend meeting permit.
-- Use signs outside of each breakout room
Reply: The state officers agree that signage will
help the flow between breakout rooms. Depending on the differences in hotel
restrictions, we can work to make this happen.
Insurance:
--Agents should have a website where members can go and get a rate quote after answering a few basic questions. Supreme/State should create an Insurance Template website that the agents could customize for their own use.
Reply: Forwarded to the General Agent
--Agents should provide a few basic slides on products to explain new products/initiatives to be used when agent is not at a meeting. Program director can cover at business meetings and forward any questions to the local agent.
Reply: Forwarded to General Agent
Recruiting/Retention:
Dave Onofrio’s information (Blitz, Info meeting, pulpit speeches) should be available to all councils – Post information on Website.
Reply: The state officers agree and will coordinate
Dave’s presentations with Vince and Bob and have the data linked to Membership
and Retention web pages.
LAMB:
Conduct local training sessions and promote through local media.
Reply: Though regional meetings have been
attempted before, attendance was down when we scheduled the meetings,
Recommendation has been forwarded to the LAMB Director for consideration.
Training
Recommendations:
Define the role of the Grand Knight
Explain how to recruit program directors and how their roles can improve council and parish
Define and outline chain of command and how to use it from the council-state-supreme .
Go through the Grand Knight Handbook – Cliff note version. GKs often do not know their role and reviewing the book prior to breakouts may help them.
How to set-up a budget and how to present it to the council
How to plan the calendar
How to run a productive business meeting
Reply: The state officers agree these are
excellent points. There are many
strategies that we could use to get you this information. This type of feedback
is critical to our planning and strategy for what content needs to be provided
in the future.
