Degree Responsibilities – The responsibilities for conducting 1st, 2nd and 3rd Degree Exemplifications are available through your District Deputy, Regional District Deputy or me. Before you host any degree, please obtain a copy of the guidelines – they have changed.

We are also beginning to receive requests to host 3rd Degrees during the next fraternal year beginning July 1, 2013. They will be awarded on a 1st come first serve basis and we will require at least 3 months notice in order to serve proper notices and to prepare for the degree. This process alone requires at least 8 weeks. Don’t wait until the last minute to try and schedule a degree in your council. Submit your request to me as soon as possible.

Special Note: Now with the changes to the 3rd Degree, smaller councils should be able to host this degree with as few as 10 – 15 candidates. We have also hosted some on Friday evenings. If you are interested in hosting a degree, check the current schedule on the website. Keep in mind that we will not conduct a 3rd Degree on Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday or during the State Convention.

If you have not observed the revised 3rd Degree you owe it to yourself to make this a priority and see how the new degree ties everything together.
Remember, if you have a priest, a brother about to be deployed or someone with a terminal illness that cannot make one of the scheduled degrees, 1st through 3rd,we can make arrangements for a private session.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about any degree work in your council or district.

Fraternally,
Ray Wycoff, PSD
